The Educational Experiences of Young Men of Color Launch

The Advocacy & Policy Center hosted a webcast on Monday, June 20 on Harvard University campus featuring a distinguished panel of leading educators, policymakers, researchers, legislators and activists. Claudio Sanchez, education correspondent for National Public Radio (NPR), moderated A dynamic discussion that addressed the educational challenges and ways to improve college completion for Native American, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino and African American young men. Gaston Caperton, president of the College Board and Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Professor, Author, Scholar and Director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research co-hosted this exciting event. Other special guests included, Author and Award-Winning Actor, Hill Harper, Representative Joaquin Castro of Texas and an audience filled with esteemed researchers, scholars and community leaders with diverse insight, perspective and experience.
